Union Supporters of 201 Hide Campaign Funding

NO on 201 Files Complaint Saying Voters Need to Know Who is Behind 201 PHOENIX – 'Arizonans Against Lawsuit Abuse', the committee opposed to Prop 201, has filed a formal complaint with the Secretary of State's Office alleging that the supporters of 201 have committed three violations of Arizona law.
The violations are:
- Failure to disclose major funding sources as of the time literature is produced;
- Failure to report expenditure for signs; and
- Failure to report a contribution or expenditure for legal defense services.
In the formal complaint (attached), Spencer Kamps, campaign manager for 'Arizonans Against Lawsuit Abuse,' asks the Secretary of State for swift action on this matter.
"Given that early voting has already begun and that Election Day is fast approaching, we respectfully request that immediate action be taken against the Committee to ensure that Arizona voters are not misled as to who is behind Proposition 201," Kamps wrote.
Kamps noted that since the Big Labor supporters of Prop 201 hired high-powered San Francisco-based lawyers to draft their initiative and defend the support committee in front of the Arizona Supreme Court, one would think they could follow Arizona's finance disclosure laws.
"I guess the out-of-state union funders of 201 are too busy trying to pull a fast one on the voters of Arizona with their misleading proposition," Kamps said. "I guess they are just too busy to follow Arizona law like everyone else."
